Praying mantis

Santateresa (Praying Mantis) is an insect that due to its appearance, abilities and habits has aroused much interest and curiosity.

Its position as if it were praying when it waits patiently for its prey is the reason for many of the popular names it has been given and also for its scientific name.

From its body stand out: two large eyes on its head and the spiny front legs, which it uses to hold its prey.

Devourer of large numbers of insects, its presence naturally regulates insect populations, improving crop productivity. Its attacks are characterized by the high speed at which it hunts its prey.

The cannibalism it practices on some occasions during its life is striking; the best known is that of the female when it sometimes eats the male during or after mating.

This is a realistic female praying mantis model, which can be used as a teaching resource for environmental education and natural science.

The 4:1 Scale models consist of 4 fitting parts measuring 40x39x124mm, 155x132x122mm, 147x128x129mm, 76x131x155mm, the assembled model has overall dimensions of 251x283x221mm.

The model without full scale brackets, you can scale it to the dimension you want.

Some parts, such as limbs and antennae, on the real insect are very thin. The thickness has been exaggerated to make printing possible. Still the model should be handled with care to avoid breaking the thin parts.

Product for pedagogical purposes in educational contexts under the supervision of educators, use for over 14 years of age or minors accompanied by adults.

In the version with brackets:

-Wall thickness 1,2 mm

-The model is designed to be printed easily, after printing the supports should be cut carefully.

In the version without supports the parameters depend on the scale at which the model is printed.
