3D model description

Microphone shockmount stand for BM-800 and clones.

Backstory

This is a stand for the standard shockmount included with many Aliexpress BM-800 clones and other similar microphones.

The included mini tripod stand was just too small in all dimensions.
It was too short which meant that the microphone with XLR cable attached didn't fit properly unless tilted backwards.
On top of that the legs didn't extend outwards far enough so the microphone had a tendency to tip over.

3D printer to the rescue!

I designed this mount to use the included shockmount.
The microphone rests higher than the stock tripod and is much more stable since it has a circular base whose diameter covers the microphone's centre of gravity when mounted.
You can also pass the XLR cable neatly through a hole in the base.
Also, it looks rather slick to me! Subjective of course.

Customisable!

The stand is fully build using OpenSCAD and is designed from scratch to be customisable.
Right now you can customise the following features:
* Height. Actually the height of the shockmount attachment hole. Figured it would be more useful than the actual height at the tip.
* Shockmount attachment type:
* M5: To use GoPro style thumb screws and hex nut. Figured people might have some of these lying around.
* M6: To use the included thumb screw and hex nut. If you're not going to use the included tripod you might as well use the included thumb screw and hex nut.

P.D.

Sorry about the colour, that's the only filament I have at the moment ;)
