3D printer file info

3D model description

Articulated Claw contraption. its designed for fitting a male mid size hand. It can be adpated for smaller hands filling the gap with any kind of elastic sheet. It has small holes so you can connect all fingers with any string and regulate the distance for the first and second phalanx.

Its recommended to file or polish gears to get a good and fluid movement.

If something doesnt works just report me and i send you the file repaired.

Update: now you can print the model in 7 parts instead of 3 which is easier for amateur printing and if you do not wish printing times of 10+ hours. The files are numbered from 1 to 7 and contain the same pieces of "main", "mech" and "finger tip".

Articulated claws with mechanism, is designed for a medium, large male hand. It can be adapted by putting some rubber or felt on the inside for smaller fingers. It has through holes that connect the fingers together. Post-production is desirable to make the gears work.

If something didn't work write me and I'll guide you.

Update:

I have put the model in 7 files to reduce too long printing times and make printing easier. These are the files that are numbered from 1 to 7.

3D printing settings

Print in the same position.

Resolution 0,2mm is ok, you can set it to 0,16 or lesser.

-Print the "finger tip" file with supports touching touching buildplate and a raft which involves all te pieces.

-Print the "mech" file with a raft which could contain all the pieces and easy to remove after. Or do not use raft and print it at mid speed. You can use support for the large tendon which shrinks on the final part of its lenght.

-Print the "main" file with raft for all pieces and you may put supports touching buildplate but not completely needed.

You may use plastic filament for the dovels of the mechanism, its recomended use metallic nails or screws as gear shafts for the main gear system on the model.

Just cut the filament at the size you need, melt it for 3 seconds with a lighter and make it flat against any surface, wait for cooldown. You can check the pictures.
