3D model description

While I was working another project, I came across these cheap laboratory adjustable jack-stands ( http://amzn.to/2hJSitj ) thought to myself these would make a great base for an adjustable laser bed. However the 8 inch version sat too high but the 4 inch was just right high wise but 4 inches was too small for the bed so I created a 3D printed version of a bed extender in bot 6in x 6in (which is the typical size of material I use and another 6in x 8in version for larger stock. Also keep in mind that you need to get you hand in the front to adjust the knob. Also, this is bit sacrificial in that bed will be burned by the laser so I PLA at least hoping to reduce the toxicity of fumes as I have laser-ed ABS before and lets not good. I also designed 2mm pins for standoff and you might be asking why 2mm? While most of what I cut is 3mm and by lifting it up by 2mm the cut part can fall down (indicating a cut was complete) and yet not fall into the beam as if it where to fall "out". I also added slots for neodymium magnets ( http://amzn.to/2jPnUSp ) to pop in from the underside and use another on top for a hold down.

Also, if you want to come with your own ideas for a jack-stand bed, I have create this of alternative lab-jacks which can also be used (http://diy3dtech.com/lab-jack-stand-for-co2-laser/). In addition, if you are looking for other K40/eBay CO2 laser parts, we have assembled these lists:
