3D model description

Model Features

  • Based on the original Robocop film from 1987 - it is pretty true to the film (aka Film Accurate)
  • Over 90 Printed parts due to the fact that I didn't want support scarring. I printed at .12 layer height
  • The Visor is removeable, and you can insert a Raspberry PI 4 for sound or whatever you would like. You can even light up the radioactive canisters if you want (this was not done in the movie).
  • Articulated legs - you can pose them and glue them in place. The model is HEAVY so I suggest keeping ED-209 with both legs on the ground
  • Articulated Leg Flaps - ED-209 has flaps that move. These flaps also move in this model
  • Lots of detail
  • New assembly manual from May 2022
  • Decals uploaded Aug 2022

Completed model stands about:
- Height - 18"
- Width - 14"
- Weight - 4.8 lbs (Yes, ED-209 is heavy)

You need to:
- Complete the model kit with your skill set
- 220 and 440 grit sandpaper
- Duplicolor Filler primer
- Super Glue
- Time

Colors I used in my build:
Tamiya Model Acrylics

  • Medium Gray
  • NATO Black
  • XF-7 Red
  • Flat aluminum
  • Dark Iron
  • Flat Black
  • Krylon Matte Clear

Update:
August 15, 22 - Decals uploaded in .pdf format

May 31,22 - Updated the carbon fiber textured visor to be 1.5mm narrower for a much better fit and look. It is in .3mf format.

May 19,22 - Updated ED-209 assembly guide. Much clearer and easier to follow.

May 14,22 - Uploaded a new visor which has a carbon fiber weave texture to make it even more screen realistic.

Jan 24,22 - Uploaded a fix to the new no_dimple visor. I forgot to add the magnet hole and fixed 2 spots where the surface had issues.

Jan 18,22 - Uploaded new visor which has no dimpling. You can simulate the cloth fabric on ED209's head with truck bed lining. Simply mask off the frame and spray the visor.

Jan 2022 - Uploaded new Head Front and Back. Back now has vent vanes that go all the way to the end of the body. Front now includes a pointed chin which is more like the show model. New Front also works with the old Back if you don't want vents all the way to the body edge. Enjoy!

Aug 2020 - New visor with a more pronounced "face" to make it look even better. Both versions are included in the download.

I have included an instruction guide.

.zip file included for easy download.
