3D printer file info

3D model description

This is a set of files to allow you to locate the double din 6" screen from the new Pioneer SPH-EVO62DAB head unit in your dash in place of the BID/GID/CID screen. It also contains the files to fit a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phone in the original stereo position in the dash for use as a Torque OBD2 screen.

You will need to remove the original dash info screen, take it apart and remove the screen by unplugging the ribbon cable and retain only the circuit board. This is needed for the car to function correctly. This can be mounted in the included enclosure and left in the dashboard behind the original position.

The Pioneer screen just slots into the frames once printed and screws into the original position. It is tight getting it into position but holds firm once in position. Don't forget the route the Pioneer video extension cable through the dashboard first!

The lower screen I have used for the Torque Pro app to replace the GID screen. The included files are ready to go for a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I rooted mine and installed an android Pie rom to get the landscape lock screens. You will need to hardwire a charger into the car for this phone. It needs a 90 degree connection to the phone. The files can be adjusted to suit whichever old phone you have laying around.

The head unit I used has Android Auto so I routed the cables for connection through the pockets above the s7 edge screen and my note 10 slides into that pocket nicely out of the way. The right hand pocket is sized for an iPhone 6S

You will need to retain the double din cage as this takes the Pioneer control unit and the frame I have supplied.

I have also included a blank double din faceplate that matches the "V" of the dashboard perfectly in case you want to fit gauges etc instead. This can be modified to suit what you need.

I have included the step files as the nature of this project means some file modification might be required.

The "V" face plates are best printed at 0.1 layer face up and then filled and sanded for paint.
