3D model description

Hi There,

This a remix of "CR-10 Mod - X axis Tensioner by Cornely_Cool".

The initial design is really wonderfull, and this tensioner seems to be an OEM part, really !!!

I did 3 modifications for the following reason:

I don't have GT2 idler pulley in stock at this moment, so i wanted this thing able to fit the original double ball bearing from creality, even if this double bearing looks like a mechanical mistake (i had a discussion about that with Cornely-cool). Why they did'nt put a normal pulley, with 20 teeth for example.

Then i wanted to use a normal 5mm diameter bolt. But the bearings are 8mm center bore.

So i made a litlle "coupler" to pass from 8mm to 5mm (part called "Manchon").

The files you can find are :

Corps_V2.stl: It is the body, fixed on the machine
Vis.stl: It is the screew, supporting the bearings
Manchon.stl: It is the reducer form 8 to 5 mm
Boulon.stl: It is the nut. No modifications of the cornely-cool's original.

Corps.stl is the older version, with not enough clearance betwwen screw and body

On my machine, i had to change the belt because with this tensioner, it was too short (just a few mm, but too short ! ). Depending on how is your factory set for your machine, you will not have to change the belt. Maybe.

You can re-use the bolt and nut of the factory tensioner to mount this new tensioner on the machine.

Don't forget a M5x25mm bolt and a M5 nut to mount the bearings on the "screw" part.

Thank's a lot to Cornely-cool for this particulary successfull design !

Enjoy !

Sorry for my bad english....

EDIT 2018-08-18:

Argh!!! : Not enough clearance between screw and body. So i add a few 5/10 mm of clearances in the body part.

I uploaded corps_V2.STL and deleted precedent version

Sure, it's a work in progress thing...

Photos added.

EDIT 2018-08-16:

Not "work in progress" now, the last version of the "Body" with new clearances is OK !

It's on my machine now.

Enjoy installing this mod, it's really accurate for belt tensioning. Next Step, the Y tensioner...

EDIT 2020-05-02:

As required by some makers, i added a .STP version file of the project.
