3D model description

The concept for this design came from the RK2020 community. There were requests for a ventilated rear shell design to lower the temperature of the components and protect the battery from overheating. This design is 4mm deeper than the stock rear shell, allowing more clearance between the battery and the processor. There are ventilation holes designed to allow natural convection to cool the case. The holes are placed in an area where your grip on the device will not be compromised.

There are 4 files, 2 for FDM/FFF (Plastic filament printers) and 2 for SLA printers. The only difference is in the screw holes. The FDM/FFF version has 1 layer covering the screw holes. The screws can be pushed through this layer. It is a trick to produce a bridge for the screw holes.
The SLA version does not have this feature as it is not required for perfect holes

3D printing settings

There are small features in this model. Precise extrusion is important for best results. Best results will be achieved with a calibrated extrusion multiplier or a printer that is already printing with accurate dimensions.

I have printed these parts on a stock Prusa MK3S with Generic PLA settings. (210C nozzle, 60C bed) with great results.

Layer Height: Designed to be printed at 0.2mm. Less is also ok.
Perimeters: Tested at 2 perimeters but this is optional.
Supports: None
Infill: I recommend 100%, but this is optional.
Nozzle diameter: 0.4mm or less (only 0.4mm nozzle has been tested)
