3D model description

Since Lego, in all their wisdom, refuse to produce weapons of war (i.e. firearms), we are left to get our wonderful, fantastic, totally awesome weapons of war from other - i.e. less expensive - companies. Take this beautiful example of a weapon here - the AK-47 with shoulder sling; working scope, trigger, safety and bolt; along with detachable mazazine. CADA # C16009 from YOWBB. The only problem with the finished product is that they insist on putting that stupid little orange cap on the end of the barrel, completely ruining the illusion. I didn't have the required pieces in black in my spare parts bins, so I 3d printed my own.

The models that come with LDraw are too blocky and didn't fit right, so I redesigned the files myself in FreeCAD. The two pieces fit together perfectly, but they are a hair loose when mating to standard Lego-compatible bricks. In this case, it doesn't matter so much, though, because the center cross bar is a snug enough fit to ensure that they aren't going anywhere.

Once your model is complete, remove that orange cap and replace it with the flat circle plate followed by the taller round brick. Those snap together and slide down the cross bar where the oarnce piece once was.
