3D model description

This is a 20mm cube with offset layers for testing both the steps and offset calibration on dual extruder setups.

#How to use!

  • Print the cube with dual extruders.

  • Mark how it faces on your platform.

Most Marlin or RepRap firmwares define the build platform as follows:

      BACK
    |------------|
 L | (+) Y |
 E | |
 F | (-) X (+) |
 T | |
    | (-) Y |
    |------------|
       FRONT
  • Using this chart we will measure the offsets with a caliper.

  • Measure the distance between the color layers in each direction and note them down.

  • On mine the black on extruder 1 was offset 0.12mm to X-

  • So we would use M218 T1 X0.12 to move the nozzle 0.12mm to X+ to correct this.

  • You can see the command usage here: http://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M218.html

  • After adjusting use M500 to save the setting and print again!

  • You can also use the cube to set steps per mm if it prints too small or too large.

  • See http://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M092.html for setting steps
