3D model description

The heart is one of the most important organs in the vertebrate body. Its main function is to provide power for blood flow and to move blood to all parts of the body. The human heart, which is about the size of a fist and weighs about 250 grams, is located in the lower left-central part of the thoracic cavity. Women's hearts are usually smaller and lighter than men's. The human heart is shaped like a peach, situated above the diaphragm, between the lungs and leaning to the left.

The heart is composed of myocardium, left atrium, left ventricle, right atrium and right ventricle. The left ventricular wall is the thickest. These four chambers are the only way for systemic circulation and pulmonary circulation.

There are valves (atrioventricular valves) between the atria and the ventricles. These valves allow blood to flow only from the atrium to the ventricle, but not from the atrium to the ventricle.

The role of the heart is to promote blood flow, to provide adequate blood flow to organs and tissues, to supply oxygen and various nutrients, and to take away metabolic end products (such as carbon dioxide, inorganic salts, urea and uric acid), so that cells maintain normal metabolism and function.
