3D model description

I created this GoPro Hero2 mount so that I could make time laps movies. I needed to mount the GoPro to a tripod and still be able to plug in an AC adapter. The mount is designed to attach to an SLIK U8000 tripod and includes holes for the mic and all connections.

Solidworks and Step design files are included.

3D printing settings

These parts were printed on a MakerBot Replicator 2 with PLA filament.

The base requires an M5-.8 hex nut. The knob is built for a M5-.8 hex bolt, 50mm in length. I found both of these at my local OSH hardware store. The screw and nut were chosen to be compatible with GoPro's hardware. As a result, you can elect not to print the "Knob" and just use a GoPro knob that you likely already have.

The Frame is printed with 2 shells, 20% infill, a 0.2mm layer height. Supports must be used. You will need to clean up the part with an Xacto knife to remove the supports from the cutouts in the frame.

The Base is printed with 2 shells, 20% infill, a 0.2mm layer height. Supports are recommended when printing (only used to help with the screw hole). Removing the supports from the hole is easily done with an Xacto.

The Knob is printed with 2 shells, 20% infill, a 0.2mm layer height. Supports are not needed.

Note: The units of the STL files are in inches.
