3D model description

The first of Asta's sword in his journey to become the Magic Emperor! Danma no Tsurugi

Asta's Demon Slayer (Danma no Tsurugi). I tried to make it as authentic as possible and sized it for a 3 foot threaded rod. Coincidentally, it's almost to size for Asta's age in the anime! I'd like to say that it IS to size but...it's an anime.

If you're looking for this, you know what it is.

For those that don't, Asta is the main character from the Black Clover anime series based in a world that is infused with magic. Asta was...well, not to spoil too much, Asta isn't able to use magic but is able to obtain a grimoire that gives him this awesome sword that wreaks havoc on all magic users! HAVOC!! It nullifies any magic it comes in contact with and most are not able to cope with not being able to use said magic.

HAVOC!!

This was designed to fit around hardware that I purchased from my local "Orange Box" hardware store. I use 1/4"x20 coupling nuts along with a 3 foot 1/4"x20 threaded rod to hold all the pieces together. In between each of the sword segments (a total of 7), there's one of the coupling nuts with a pair of 5/16" tube pieces to keep the sword from rotating out of alignment. I used tubes instead of rods because they're lighter but either rod or tube can be used. They're not really needed but I like the stability they provide.

The blade itself is in 7 segments (up from the initial 4) so that the print time isn't dreadfully long.

This is designed to be printed on a CR-10 with the larger print bed. At 100%, the sword is just over 41" long and 9" wide! It didn't fit on the whiteboard I use for pictures...
The picture of me holding it up doesn't show my hand trembling a bit...I need Asta's workout regiment!! It's printed with 4 walls at 15% infill. I tried 25% initially but that was too heavy per segment. At 15% it's sturdy enough to swing around and lightly whack stuff (not children!) without it falling apart on me.

3D printing settings

I printed with PLA at 220, bed at 60, 4 walls and 15% infill, gyroid in my case.
