3D model description

This self-locking support is suitable for handles from 20 to nearly 30 mm in diameter (3/4'' to 1''1/8).

You can use it to easily store your brooms, shovels, rakes...

2 CHC M8 screws length 40 and 2 M8 nuts (or 2 UNC 5/16 screws 1''1/2 long) will be useful for the assembly. I recommend the use of thread lockers to hold the screws without over tightening them.

One tooth of each sprocket has been deliberately shortened to allow assembly: insert the right-hand sprocket first, raise it to the upper position and then insert the left-hand sprocket by pivoting it towards its axis.

Plugs are not essential (I prefer the robot look with the head of the hollow hexagon screws).

The bracket is fixed to the wall with 3.5 mm diameter screws.

To improve the adhesion between the lock gears and the broomstick, use sandpaper and create a rougher contact surface by running it perpendicular to the axis of the broomstick.

The holder works perfectly with plastic-coated broom handles. I had to lightly sand a varnished wooden broomstick for the holder to work because the varnish made it too slippery to tighten.

The "19-25mm" sprocket models can be used for better clamping of broom handles with a diameter of about 20mm.

Version 4 :

  • New reinforced body definition

  • Increase in functional play

  • New definition of the shortened teeth allowing the assembly so that they remain engaged once the screws are mounted.

Version 5 :

  • Alternative version of the locking gears for handles with a diameter of approx. 20 mm (less than 1 inch).
