The Sixth Chakra, Ajna, represents our third eye. We enter already in very spiritual chakras, and this one is considered in some beliefs, that it is the place where our soul resides.

The sixth chakra is located between the eyebrows, related to the pituitary gland and is represented with only two petals. Ajna means "command".

Fifth to Sixth chakra

When we pass from the fifth to the sixth chakra we are beyond the natural elements. We have gone through all the transformations of our ordinary experience that are encoded by earth, water, fire, air and ether. There is no earth bound element associated with the higher chakras.

Characteristics of the sixth chakra, Ajna

The sixth chakra, Ajna, is of the domain, where we attain integration of the personality over and above the dualism of human psychology. From here you develop the sense of intuition to know in which direction you want to go, and the main energy channels ida, pingala and shushumna come together, where the three rivers of your inner energy are integrated into one.

Ajna chakra is associated with the third eye, with which you see more than with two eyes. The latter give you dimension in the normal world; the third eye gives you the vision, depth and dimension of the subtle worlds. Its function is to see the invisible and know the unknown. It is the center of intuition and our direct connection to the infinite source of wisdom. It is different from psychic power which uses energy from the third chakra and works from it, and therefore can be subjective in its appreciation.
