Root Chakra - Muladhara

The first chakra called Muladhara, which means base or root, is represented by a flower with four petals and intense red color. This chakra is located below the sacral bone, which is the place where the Kundalini resides.

Muladhara is the gateway of life and death. Place of birth and reincarnation. It is associated with the ability to take in the abundance of the planet. This chakra has the significance of security and self-acceptance. It represents the desire to live and the grounding to the Earth. It is associated with the earthly existence of the physical plane.

The color red to which it is associated, is the symbol of life, strength, vitality and the physical nature of the human being. Red is a stimulating color that generates a vibration that is associated with fire and heat. The human being sees red when he succumbs to anger or violent passion. The use of this color gives excellent results in the treatment of diseases caused by blood problems.
