Description

The dove of peace is a symbol of peace, friendship, solidarity and holiness.

According to the Bible's Genesis, because God was so dissatisfied with human sins, he decided to destroy everything on the earth with the flood, and only chose Noah and his family to stay on the earth. He commanded Noah to bring some animals (one male and one female) into the ark to escape the flood disaster.

After the ark floated on the water for more than 150 days, Noah released pigeons to explore the flood. When the dove came back, an olive leaf was in his mouth to let Noah know that the flood had subsided.

Since then, people have symbolized peace with pigeons (and olive leaves).

In November 1950, in honor of the World Peace Conference held in Warsaw, Picasso happily drew a flying pigeon with an olive branch. At that time, the famous Chilean poet Neruda called it "the dove of peace", so the pigeon was officially recognized as a symbol of peace.
