3D model description

Widening and reinforcement of the main XZ structure of the Dagoma Discovery 200, in addition to the Liar/DAL parts: "adaptable dagoma triangulation structural reinforcement" https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1200492

Use of 6x rods diam 8 mm in length adjusted to 380 mm (+0.1/-0 mm) to replace the 270 mm rods which are themselves reused to reinforce the structure.

During this conception, I was able to better understand and note the origin of many adjustment problems of the DiscoVery which were transferred (and even amplified) on the DiscoEasy: the original 270 mm rods were designed for available lengths of 273 mm. This implies phenomena of bad horizontality of the X carriage, wooble in Z, and friction of the Y carriage (see the last two explanatory pictures).

The whole design proposed here is totally play-free adjusted to 380 mm rods and improves the rigidity of the whole machine.

Observed gain: no more oscillation of the threaded rods, no more wooble, horizontality preserved, Y carriage perpendicular and unconstrained. High printing precision and reproducibility.

AND A 280 mm X-RACE with this head https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2478810

2018-03-26 : a new version "Base_support_XZ_DiscoEasy_without_pastilles.stl" has been added. The main axes have their center at 9 mm height from the ground (instead of 10 mm in the previous version) to be fully compatible with the front and rear sides of the DiscoEasy, provided that the self-adhesive damping pads have been removed (...)

For a set "Base_support_XZ", left or right ( it will thus be necessary to multiply by two the following quantities) it is necessary to :

11x M3 nuts

4xM3-lg6 (engine)

4xM3-lg10 (clamping of the 2 bars X380)

4xM3-lg12 (clamping of the 2 Z-bars)

3xM3-lg20 (Y-bar clamping)

3D printing settings

Supports: yes

Infill 30
