3D model description
Spinning K-Cup Holder for 24 K-Cups
Designed by JWizard
I had all my K-Cups in plastic zip lock bags. I decided I wanted a nice place to store my K-Cups that made the K-Cups more accessible and was visually pleasing. I had the idea that I would create a pyramid structure to store 24 K-Cups. The model in yellow was the prototype. It was very close to the final K-Cup holder. The model in the marbled black is the revised K-Cup holder with labels all around including the bottom of the base.
The K-Cups are inserted into the hole a small amount. If you force the K-Cups too far into the hole, you will damage the K-Cups. Upon using the K-Cup holder, you will figure out fast exactly how far to push the K-Cup into the hole. All of the K-Cups will be uniformly stored in the K-Cup Holder.
Download includes the customizable OpenSCAD, obj and stl files. The model includes helpful comments needed to make the changes to the model.
You can change any or all of the labels all around the K-Cup Holder and Base. If you do not want labels in one or more areas you can remove the word between the quotes. You can even remove all the labels if you prefer not to have labels. You can choose whatever fonts you have on your computer in the customizable model. Keep in mind that smaller fonts will allow you to type in more letters. All you need to do is specify the name of the font between the quotes of the font variable. In our model, we used Calibri. Calibri is a smaller font that allowed us to include more letters in our labels.
The size of this model could be increased. The next size would hold 40 K-Cups! You would need a printer than can print models larger than 9x9x9. The next size model would contain 4 rows per side each containing 1,2,3 and 4 K-Cups per row respectively. Each of the 4 pyramid sides would contain 10 K-Cups for a total of 40 K-Cups! To create a 40 K-Cup pyramid tower would require OpenSCAD and require programming modifications. It would be a nice project to expand this idea and create an impressive K-Cup pyramid tower! Whatever K-Cup holder you create, you will find a use for it!
Just imagine giving this K-Cup out as a gift. Also if you are having a party, at dessert time you can put the K-Cup holder on the table and your guests can select their own K-Cup they would like to have.
So far all the people who I have printed the model for loved it! I hope you will enjoy my K-Cup Holder model as well. This was enjoyable project. It is a very functional model to store your K-Cups. Let me know how you like it. Post some of your makes.
Thank you for your continued support,
