Herb Garden Barrel

My apartment doesn't have a big enough deck to utilize my full size garden barrel, so I designed a miniature version for herbs.

The base of the barrel collects excess water that can be reused to water the garden. The little side pockets are a great way to separate your different herbs. The pot design is also stack-able if you wanted to do that.

As it happens, while working on this design I was also reading a book about another man's gardening troubles and tribulations that lead him to the very same conclusion as me. I 100% recommend this book as a fun nonfiction read:

2 Perimeters, 30% infill minimum. No supports needed. You may want to play with surface finishing after printing to make sure the base is waterproof.

The full size model has a 5" diameter around the barrel and is 5" tall. The smallest usable version of this would probably be 85% scale or so. I recommend printing it as large as you are able.

The main photo is a miniature version i printed to check the fit and take some good pictures. The 100% sized version is shown with an incomplete top because my printer gave up in the home stretch of the 14 hour job. I'll update pics when I get the full sized print out right.
