3D model description

Scale model of the main caliber turret of the battleship «Yamato».
Can be used in the construction of a battleship model, or a model of the Yamato star battleship, for dioramas, or as a souvenir.

Yamato is Japan’s oldest poetic name. It is the name of the territory
on which the first seed of state was sown, and later became the name
of the province on the Kii peninsula, in southwestern Honshu,
whose capital is Nara.

This mystic and especially potent name was given to the largest
and most powerful battleship ever built, which entered service in the
Pacific War at the beginning of 1942. Throughout the Second World
War, Yamato was not only Japan’s modern, new generation battle-
ship but also the pride and symbol of its Imperial Navy. Her loss,
in the ‘Kamikaze’ operation ‘Ten’ ichigo’ in April 1945, became a
symbol of the downfall of the Empire and was a final confirmation
of the eclipse of the world’s floating fortresses. Originally built to
oppose US battleships — with the capability to annihilate them in
battle — she never in fact fought against them.

The interstellar adventures of the battleship are narrated in a Japanese anime in which the earthlings transform the battleship Yamato, sunken during the Second World War, into a high-speed space cruiser, which, under the command of Captain Judo Okita, sets off on a flight to interstellar adventures.

This model is created in 1/200 scale but can be expanded to larger scales. In a number of details (for example, the rails of the rails), I deliberately distorted the scale so that they could be printed, I removed the rails altogether. There you need to pull the thinnest line available to you.

Files of a tower dome with fine detail should be printed with photopolymers, large parts with filaments.
I hope to lay out the hull of the battleship, and its other elements necessary to create a complete model.

3D printing settings

It is necessary to print on standard plastics and photopolymers of your choice.
