https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4511544

EDICION A VERSION 2.0 (13/07/2020)

DIY project of my outboard motor for kayak use.

It is made with the head of a damaged radial an old 18v battery drill (with damaged battery) and pvc pipe.

The battery to use it is 12V 65amp

The propeller that mounts this model, you can find it here:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4511544

EDITION A VERSION 2.0 (07/13/2020)
Replaced the drill motor by an electric motor of automotive fan (to have more revolutions)
Shaft shank shortened 20cm
Axis shortened 20cm
I have changed the 3D printed propeller for a 3-blade aluminum propeller (much more power)

EDITION TO VERSION 2.1 NEW CONTROL COMMAND (07/17/2020)
After having gone sailing 3 times with the new set up 2.0, today the control knob (made with the drill electronics that appears in the photos) has died.

Now I have inserted a relay with a switch (new design box added) so I only have forward gear and an all-or-nothing gas.
It is not a problem either, because after having sailed a few days already with the first command, I have realized that I really do not use the reverse gear, and having to press the throttle trigger constantly, after a while it becomes heavy .

Now I just have to hit the switch and so I have both hands free to be able to steer the kayak with the paddle. In the next few days I will prove that such is the new system.

PS: new updates will come soon, since I have ordered a motor controller with triple switch (front, neutral and rear) together with a potentiometer that controls speed .. but that comes from China so it will take a month to arrive ..
