*Whistles and waves to get your attention*
Ever wanted the satisfaction of collecting one of these little guys yourself? Well now you can!
The Jinjo figurine is 5.5cm tall, and has moveable arms and legs (the legs move as one). You can also print it out with an (optional) hole in the head for a string to go through, to make it a dangler.
Please check the printing details below for detailed instructions on printing & assembly, as the model can be a bit brittle if not assembled correctly (and trust me, I did a bunch of trials and have a whole pile of smashed Jinjos to get this design right).
================
UPDATE #1:
- Increased the string alcove for jinjo-body-string-hole.stl
UPDATE #2:
- Improved the chest model's alignment for more consistant print results.
- Re-uploaded all models (the names were mixed up in the upload for some reason).

Printing instructions
=====================
Global rules
------------
Do not rotate the models provided. Their rotation has been deliberately set to maximise strength. As a result, all models will need supports. As for materials, I list my recommendations, but either all ABS or all PLA should be fine.
Legs & Body
-------------
Material: ABS
Material length: 2.75m
Supports: Yes
Raft: No
Infill: 21% (Grid)
Wall thickness: 1.2mm (3 layers)
Alternate extra wall: Yes
Instructions:
The body should have a Z value about 0.3mm (so that no part of it touches the platform). This will ensure the ears have a cleaner look to them once printed.
Due to having moving parts, I recommend using at least the infill and wall thickness specified to increase protection from snapping.
Eyes & Chest
------------
Material: PLA (ABS should be fine; you may need to use the non-indented eyes instead)
Material length: 0.35m
Suppoers: Yes
Raft: Yes
Infill: 50% (Grid)
Wall thickness: 3 layers
Alternate extra wall: No
Level of detail: Extra fine
Instructions:
There are two different models for the eyes available. One has indents to make painting them easier; so use whichever you prefer (PLA is recommended for the indented ones).
Assembly & painting instructions
================================
Preparation
-----------
If you plan on painting the eyes, you'll have an easier time of it if you paint them while they're still attached to their raft and on the platform. I used Uni-posca pens for mine. After you're done, I'd also recommend a coat of varnish to prevent the paint being rubbed off.
While sanding the back of the body, be careful where you hold it. The two ridges on the front can be brittle before the chest plate has been applied.
Slowly bend the arms down to break the supports between the joints, then bend them up. Clear out any bits of plastic which come out.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the chest fits nicely into the body's cavity. You may need to sand the chest down slightly to ensure a snug fit.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the legs fit onto the body's cylinder and can be rotated, then carefully detach them before assembly.
After you've sanded and painted everything, it's time to assemble your Jinjo.
Assembly
--------
- Insert the chest into the legs, being careful not to snap it.
- Apply superglue to the body cavity, as well as the sides where the chest will make contact with the model.
- Carefully place the legs (with chest attached) onto the cylinder on the body, and slide the chest up towards the head until it fits in snugly. Hold in place while the glue sets.
- You should now be able to move all the poseable parts of your Jinjo.
- If you printed the Jinjo model with the string hole, now is the time to thread your string through it. Take a sturdy peice of string, and fold it in half. Push it through the hole, with the two loose ends going through the hole in the Jinjo's face. Tie several knots on the lose ends, so that you cannot pull the string through the Jinjo any more (due to the knot stopping it). Trim the loose ends.
- And finally, superglue the eyes onto the face (covering up the string's knot from the previous step).
And with that, you're done! Enjoy your Jinjo and good luck finding the other four!
