Flight Box Cradle

I hacked together a crude flight box from a piece of 2x2 foot square 3/8” thick CDX plywood. The only thing missing was something to hold my planes up off the ground for wing attachment, servicing, and starting. I designed these adjustable cradles for the purpose, and they work quite well. I expect they would function for most 1/2A to .60 sized aircraft. The holes and slots are sized for #10 hardware. As in the photographs, first securely fasten the “Stationary Cradle” with two short and long bolts through the nuts, which press into their hex-shaped recesses. Then slide the “Sliding Cradle Half” over the longer bolts and secure with wingnuts. Note that the stepped faces on each half interface with each other to provide something more than the bolt shafts for vertical shear support.
i printed mine with PETG for durability in the warm sun. 30% infill should do it. Orient “stationary half” so the nut recesses are facing up. Orient “sliding half” with the thicker portion facing up.
