Trovare l'idea per un orologio particolare non è stato facile ma appena mi è venuta in mente questa, mi sono messo subito a disegnarla.

Il funzionamento è molto semplice, l'orologio deve essere appeso alla parete o mantenuto con il quadrante verticale, con il passare del tempo il quadrante ruoterà facendo muovere la sfera. Essa si avvicinerà sempre più al centro e alle ore 12 circa cadrà nel foro che la riporterà sulla circonferenza esterna.

La movimentazione del quadrante non è possibile con un normale meccanismo per orologi visto che deve compiere 150° di rotazione in un ora invece che 360°, per cui ho preso un motore DC e ho provveduto a fare la corretta demoltiplica. Come mai 150° tra un numero e il successivo? La risposta è semplice, la condizione da rispettare è che il due fori per la pallina si trovino allineati (o quasi) su un raggio della circonferenza così che la pallina per gravità possa tornare sulla circonferenza esterna. Si potrebbero disporre i numeri a 360° l'uno dall'altro avendo però una disposizione "incolonnata" poco bella e che porterebbe ad un quadrante molto grande. Oppure l'alternativa era scegliere un angolo sufficientemente grande da poter notare lo scorrere del tempo tra un'ora e la successiva ma che 12(n° di ore) di questi angoli fossero divisibili per 360°, infatti (12*150)/360 = 5 . Potrebbero andare bene anche tutti gli angoli compresi tra 145° e 155° ma la pallina potrebbe avere poca spinta e non arrivare correttamente alla sua posizione di partenza.

Non è un progetto definitivo, anzi, chiunque abbia suggerimenti o proposte di miglioramenti sono molto felice di ascoltarlo. Sicuramente è possibile mettere un controllo tramite un semplice encoder così da avere un orologio preciso a distanza di giorni, oppure utilizzare un motore passo passo o un servo motore opportunamente controllati.

Ho sfruttato il suggerimento nei commenti di allargare il quadrante, così da poter leggere bene l'orario tra le 9 e le 12, il risultato mi sembra molto buono.

Finding the idea for a particular watch was not easy but as soon as it occurred to me, I immediately started to draw it.

The motion of the dial is not possible with a normal clock mechanism since it has to rotate 150° in one hour instead of 360°, so I took a DC motor and proceeded to do the correct demoltyping. Why is it 150 ° between one number and the next? The answer is simple, the condition to be respected is that the two holes for the ball are aligned (or almost) on a radius of the circumference so that the ball can return to the outer circumference by gravity. The numbers could be arranged at 360 °, however, having an unattractive "columned" arrangement which would lead to a very large dial. Or the alternative was to choose an angle if large to be able to see the passage of time between one hour and the next but that 12 (n ° of hours) multiplied for this angles were divisible by 360 °, in fact (12 * 150) / 360 = 5 . All angles between 145 ° and 155 ° could also work, but the ball could have little thrust and not arrive correctly at its starting position.

It is not a final project, anyone who has suggestions or proposals for improvements, I'm very happy to hear it. Surely it is possible to put a control through a simple encoder so as to have a precise clock after days, or use a step-by-step motor or a properly controlled servo motor.

I took advantage of the suggestion in the comments to widen the dial, so you can read the time well between 9 and 12, the result seems very good to me.
