3D model description

Bach 3C Megatone based Trumpet mouthpiece, a slightly modified model of the famous hight record mouthpiece for trumpets.

Ultra shallow cup allows getting high notes easily, medium sharp rim bite allows more control

Stylished outer body to get the most strength in 3d printers

More mouthpieces comings soon

3D printing settings

To get the best sound quality print it in a mix of 20% tenacious and 80% abs like resin on SLA or DLP printers.

Elegoo mars:

  • 0.05 Layer

  • 15 bottom layers

  • 10 sec exposure

  • 50mm/s lift speed

  • 70mm/s retract speed

  • 7mm lift height

  • No supports needed

For FDM:

If you want to print this in an FDM printer you need to print at really low speed in order to not getting off the piece from the bed.

  • 0,06 layer height

  • 0.3 wall width

  • 20 wall count/perimeters --- This give a lot more resistance than infill

  • Print speed: 30mm/s

  • Inside wall speed: 30mm/s

  • Outside wall speed: 10-15mm/s

  • Travel speed: max 20mm/s otherwise the dragging effect or the nozzle will get off the print from the bed (this is one of the most important settings for this mouthpiece)

  • no infill, it is compensate it by using a high wall count

  • Supports: NO

  • Brim: Yes, at least 25mm diameter and check the ''inside brim'' option checkbox

IMPORTANT:

Print using inside and outside brim of almost 2cm width, or the piece may gett off the bed if you dont put a larger base than the cup.

If you experiencing problems with fdm, try putting a base with meshmixer to enlarge the contact point with the bed

DO NOT print upsdide down, rims are carefully designed to get the most comfort so print it with the cup pointing up

Post Proccesing

Use a 320 , 600 and 1000 grit sand paper to get smooth rim

SLA resin prints can be treated with a little bit of bee wax during and before sanding to get a glossy finish
