British Type 28a Pillbox FW3-28a - WW2 Bunker - STL

The Type 28a pillbox was a small rectangular British fortification that was designed and constructed to house either the 2pdr anti-tank gun or 6pdr Hotchkiss gun for the expected German invasion of England in World War 2.

The official designation of this bunker was FW3/28a and had a rectangular design and was built to shellproof standards. The pillbox measured approx. 6.1m x 5.8m. It had a low and wide embrasure for anti-tank weaponry although the maximum traverse for the guns was limited to 60 degrees.

Generally, the pillboxes are positioned to allow the gun to fire along fixed lines, such as enfilading fire across an anti-tank ditch or a bridge. In these positions the limited traverse of the gun creates no real disadvantage, and the small size of the embrasure provides greater protection for the gun and its crew.

This STL file is designed for FDM Printers and print with a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.3mm layer height.

Supports are not needed for this model. At larger scales these bunkers may become larger than more common build-plate sizes, you may need to cut them into sections for your machine. Please check the size below.

The printed model measures approx.:

124mm x 172mm x 57mm @28mm Scale

81mm x 113mm x 33mm @00 Railway scale
