3D model description

This is a 3D model of the PRP-1G (part number 032486) fin can produced by Estes that has four fins.

Here is a list of model rocket kits that have used this fin can.

Kit# 1328, Kadet
Kit# 1333, Scorpion (used 2 fin units) (early production kits)
Kit# 1416, Challenger-1 (starter set)
Kit# 1418, Star Trek (starter set)
Kit# 1420, Star Wars Proton Torpedo (starter set)
Kit# 1438, Dune Guild Heighliner (starter set)
Kit# 1447, America (starter set)

There are eight versions of this fin can:
1) Original - It is designed just like the stock fin can with no changes.

2) Longer collar - It's the same as the original with only the collar, where the airframe tube slides over and fits on, is extended.

3) 3-fin, 5-fin, and 6-finned versions of the original and the longer collar.

4) Original, 3-fin, 5-fin and 6-finned versions with standard collar and longer collar that have an integrated launch lug that will fit 1/8th inch (3.175mm) launch rods.

5) This version is over-sized fin can designed to slide over an Estes BT-50 airframe tube in the original cruciform fin configuration as well as in 3-fin, 5-fin, and 6-fin both with and without integrated launch lugs.

6) 24mm SUPERSONIC VERSION of this fin can that is over-sized to slide over the airframe tube similar to version five. Will fit the Estes BT-50 airframe tube so you can fly it as a 24mm minimum diameter. A small area above the fin that's chamfered is designed to help move the airflow over the fin can a little more efficiently.

7) 29mm SUPERSONIC VERSION of this fin can is upscaled to slide over a 29mm motor mount tube that has an OD of 1.21" (30.73mm) so you can perform 29mm minimum diameter flights. Has a chamfered end on top to allow the airflow to move more efficiently.

8) The last version is the original fin can with integrated centering rings on the top and bottom. Another version of this has the center rings running the full length in case you have difficulty printer the former version. It does add a bit of weight to the fin can, but at the price of easier printing.

A special thanks to ERIK442 at YORF for help in obtaining the dimensions for this fin can.
