Golden Cage - 3D Fibonacci (Goldener Käfig)

Hi there,
this is the golden cage. It's made of 26 circular rotated and mirrored golden spirals. I'm not quite sure if "living in a golden cage" is a term used in the english language. In german it basically means when someone lives in the colden cage, that this person is isolated by the means of their own wealth.

To be honest, there is no deeper meaning in this, I was just tinkering around with the golden spiral and came up with this one. There are a lot of different possible versions one could create. Many of them are beautiful, but I wanted to have one, that's support free. For exxample you could rotate around another axis, you could take a longer piece of the fibonacci sequence etc. Of course I had to use a golden Filament for this one. Feel free to leave me some feedback and please post your print.

Desgin

I will attach the Fusion360 file, so you can tinker around with it yourself

• You draw the golden spiral (x-y plane) for the sequence [1,1,2]
• Extrude the spiral
• Rotate it around the x axis, 13x
• Mirror the design
• move both pieces together (closing the gap, which is easier to print)
• a circular socket, so it's easier t print

And that's it.

optimization

Maybe all the seams should be placed on the inside of the "cage bars" to be hidden. The visible seams kind of mess up the look of the model.
