These access points are designed to mount like standard face plates over a single-gang electrical box. When the box is recessed into a wall cavity, all is fine. But if you have cinderblock or similar construction, where the box is on the surface of the wall, the access point is over-sized for the box. The result is ugly and dangerous, as it's easy for things to snag where the AP overhangs the box.

This model is designed to match the mounting plate for the AP. The plate itself is tapered, so there is still some overhang, but it is greatly reduced, and the result is much more attractive. The wall thicknesses were chosen with a .4mm nozzle in mind.

The model includes mounting screw holes and a cutout in the back to match standard 1/2" PVC conduit, though I expect most people needing this will want to alter the model to allow cable to come in from one of the four sides. If you have a business environment with concerns about licensing, consider this explicit permission from the author to do so. A 5.6mm cylinder works well for most Cat5/6. 5.8mm may be needed for heavier cable, or 6.2mm for shielded outdoor cable. I also suggest painting this if you want to use it outdoors.

The final model differs slightly from the pictures. In my test print, the inner wall surrounding the screw holes was not very solid, so I added the additional screw head risers and converted them to .3mm knockouts to provide mounting strength after the print and pictures were taken.
