3D model description

These curtain clip hooks (e.g. for "boat" type curtains) are adapted to support a 20mm diameter aluminium (or other material) tube which will act as a rod.

You don't need to drill holes in your window to put screws in. Simply attach several hooks to your window (open in casement to make the installation) and insert your round curtain rod in the profile "u".

The round hole below (10mm diameter) will be used to pass the ropes to raise your boat curtain.

(the cords will pass vertically at the back of the curtain in small rings then each of the cords will be inserted into the hole below the hook-clip and will follow along the rod until the exit of the desired side where all the cords will meet so that you can pull the whole at once to raise the fabric.

I also designed a "cord attachment" block as well as the plugs that finish the end of the rod.

This block tie and also to fix in the slot of the window (without screws).

So you will surround the cords that will be joined and turn around the "H" shaped part to be able to hook it with the other part. (see pictures)

INFO: this type of fastening does not allow the curtain to be rolled up around the tube but it is the curtain fabric that must fold up as it goes up (this is why the "boat" type curtain.

For the practicality of it: I curved a fairly wide strip at the back of the curtain where I slid the hooks in. They exit this strip through a hole (the width of the hook base) reinforced with a buttonhole stitch.

Thus, the rod is inside the curtain.

Unfortunately I didn't think to take more accurate pictures when the finished curtain was put up but here are the test pictures during manufacturing)

3 pieces available in this pack:

1) hook-clip: printing time: 1h46 min. / 12g filament / 3.86 m. / without adhesion / without support

2) cord attachment block :

  • part "H" : printing time : 1h21 min. / 9 g / 3.06 m. / without adhesion / without support

  • outer part of the block: printing time: 2h45 / 20 g / 6.76 m/ support YES / adhesion YES.

This piece will be perfect if you print it with the backing and adhesion. (You'll need to remove the little bit of adhesion from the inner center that allows the cords to go through and tie it there with a big knot). You will be able to help you with a small blow of hammer on a screwdriver placed at the place of the passage of the future cords. Don't hesitate to fix the piece in a vice to make it easier.
