3D model description

I got tired of pulling my after market Raptor grill every couple of months to replace the cheap Ebay Raptor LED's that fail about every month or two.

I designed these little holders as a replacement. The body is physically the same size as a Raptor grill LED light, or just a tad smaller. The two mounting tabs are the same. I have (4) 3mm holes for (4) 3mm LED's. I bought prewired 3mm LED's with a resistor so they are good for 12 volts. 3 Raptor grill light assemblies will need 4 LED's each for a total of 12 LED's. I used yellow LED's. 3mm LED's are not as bright as the original Raptor LED's and that's fine with me.

The LED holes are tight and will probably need to be cleaned out a little. I used a 7/64 drill bit, which translates to 2.7mm's. Perfect tight fit for a 3mm LED, but I would still put down a drop of super glue, on the back side. Silicon might be better. A big blob on the back side to hold the LED's in place, and also to minimize flexing of the wires close to the LED's. I used small needle nose pliers with the 2 leads in the jaws so the the jaws are flat against the LED, to press them into thier holes.

I took 3 old Raptor LED's and cut off the pigtails and wired them to my LED's, so they will plug right in.

The dimensions:
51.5mm overall length, 14mm's overall width.
The 2 mounting holes are 43mm center to center.
The main body is 34.5mm's long X 14mm's wide.
The 3mm holder is 5mm's tall. The 5mm holder is 8mm's tall.

Clean out the 3mm LED holes with a 7/64 drill bit (2.7mm's)
Clean out the 5mm LED holes with a 3/16 drill bit (4.7mm's)

You will need to print 3 each of whichever one you chose, the 3mm or 5mm holders.
I installed the 3mm holders first. I eventually decided that they were a little understated, so I printed and installed the 5mm version. The last picture of the grill of my truck is with the 5mm LED holders.

Printed in ABS for obvious reasons. They are exposed to the elements and super glue works with ABS so there ya go. 0.2 layer, 50% infill
