3D model description

(original design by Joel Nicklasson)

Update 2020/11/21 :

A new blower fang (Fang_V6), more efficient.

Update 2020/08/11 :

OK, I now have adressed the two main issues:

1) I received my BLTouch, the mounting is now corrected and validated (see picture for "invisible" wiring). Distance between extruder and BLTouch is -7mm -35mm (X,Y)

2) In order to save the LED function, I used to litteraly get around.
But I just discovered PETG.
Especially Clear PETG.
Print your fang with clear PETG.
Just do it.
You can glue it to the structure using Cyanoacrylate.
Yeah, I know PETG doesn't glue with CA, but the fang has been modified so that using enough glue, you will eventually stick it.

I just tested this new fang and it is at least as efficient as stock one now.

I'm satisfied, and you should be too.

ORIGINAL post :

This is my proposition of an "all in one" mod for the Genius extruder block.

I don't know whether it fits well on the SWX1, or your Genius so your feedback are welcome.

On my Genius, it fits perfectly!
If it doesn't, feel free to make a remix, as original STEP files are included.

Also, if you could test the BLTouch bracket, please tell me how it ended up in the comments!

If you like the mod, feel free to tip me the amount to get a coffee cup in your country as I spent many nights improving it, and some PLA to build the prototypes.

The idea there was to build a Cover that is :
- Well adjusted (for my machine, it is better than the remixed design);
- Able to clamp the electrical ribbon;
- BLTouch ready (although it couldn't be verified, as my BLTouch is somewhere on the sea)
- Able to mount a BLTouch close to the extruder
- Able to let the LED do its work
- Nice.

I won't give any instruction for set-up, except that your original 4020 fan wires should be extended of 50mm (also: be careful when dismantling if from the printer original fang, it was glued strongly on my Genius).

Please consider gluing the Fang and the Clamp1 part to the cover.

The Clamp2 part should be threaded using your favorite technique...
I personnaly use a M3 20mm screw and a lighter:
screw a little bit,
burn the screw head for 6 sec,
thread it,
burn again...

The thing is designed for BLTouch but adjusting the Bracket design should be doable for any other "touch-schmurz"

Shit, I just provided some advice!

The assembly process should be OK as long as you are smart enough.
If you do not understand this or if you are not smart, please don't use this mod.

The Fang is a first version, stay tuned for improvements.
