3D model description

The Turbo-Union RB199 is a turbofan engine that powers the Tornadoes.

The RB199 is a modular motor, which facilitates maintenance. It has been flight tested on the Avro Vulcan, the aircraft that was used for flight tests of the Concorde Olympus 593 engines. A nacelle was specially built that was fully representative of the Tornado's fuselage and attached below the Vulcan. The aircraft made its first flight in this configuration in 1972.
