3D model description

A lamp that fits together with a twist. Inspired by Furniture Designer Nick Falzone and a picture I found of some joinery. I'm not sure if Nick Falzone used this type of joinery in his work, but the results are similar.

This is not a small project, but it can be printed a few pieces at a time. This project is certainly BETA because I am just starting to learn CAD. The diagram is not for this model, but shows how it fits together. The columns pivot after the beams are placed and hide the joints. You will have to round over one corner of the columns where the beams fit, and make an inside support for the light source that you choose to use. I highly recommend printing a column and both beams to test fit clearance, and adjust files as needed. I had mine too tight and had to dremel the joints...and there are a lot of joints! I left the shade a simple insert. I'm sure some talented people will come up with a some very nice designs for the shade. Have fun!

Manufacturing settings

Columns- one of each

Beams- 6 of each

header- 4

shade frame-4

Assemble Column A with both beams. Then assemble Column C with both beams. Join together by inserting Column B, then Column D.

The header sets back 1mm. The shade frame sets back 2mm.
