3D model description

After recently finding Nintendo's ROB The Robot for a good price on eBay, I have decided to start modeling his parts in 3D to help those who want to print parts for ROB.

This is his Battery Door! Due to the design of the battery compartment, it's very difficult to use ROB without the Battery Door. After a few days of work, I have created a 3D model of the Battery door that is printable! The models are not perfect one-to-one replicas of the original, but they are extremely close. There are two versions, one with an Embossed OPEN logo (like the original) and one with a Debossed OPEN logo (for less-accurate printers).

I also made hands for ROB if you need those (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3736975). They are used to play ROB's 2 NES games, Stack-Up and Gyromite.

Post-Printing:
After removing the supports, you may need to use a fine-grit sandpaper to sand the edges for a smooth fit. My initial prints fit snugly and required no post-processing.

How I Designed This:
Using an Empire 6 Inch Pocket Ruler and Pittsburgh 6 Inch Composite Digital Calipers, I took measurements from an original ROB Battery Door (pictured). I then input those measurements into SolidWorks and created a digital model of the claw. From there I converted the model files into STL files and printed them. Once they were printed, I tested them on ROB to see how they fit.
