The Sturmgeschütz III was an assault cannon vehicle designed and produced by the Nazi Germany during the second world war. The vehicle design started during 1935, entered in service during 1940 as an infantry support vehicle but its versatility caused several changes in its role during the war, being finally considered has an anti-tank. The design and fabrication of the StuG III was in charge of Daimler-Benz AG, with orders of fabricating an armored vehicle that could transport a 75mm artillery piece. The vehicle was based on the Panzer III chassis, with a modified turret. There were many variants of the StuG III, each one solving mechanical issues, improving the vehicle armament and also changing the Panzer III suspension for the recent Panzer IV suspension. The vehicle participated in the European campaing, the African campaing and the eastern front.
