3D model description

This pair of 1/64 scale wheels were designed specifically for Hot Wheels's Ferrari 156 "Sharknose", but they will fit in many other Vintage racing cars (Ferrari 250LM, 250TR, etc.).

Background:

The Ferrari 156 is an F-1 car designed by Carlo Chiti. Powered by a gorgeous screaming 1.5 V6 engine, It is the first rear-engined Ferrari F1 car (Previous rear engined Ferraris were F2 or prototypes). It won the Drivers Championship with American Phil Hill and the Constructors Title with contributions of Wolfang Von Trips (Who lost his life while leading the Championship at Monza) and Richie Ginther. Occasionally, Giancarlo Baghetti, Mexican Ricardo Rodriguez and Belgian Oliver Gendebien also drove the Sharknose.

Details:

Wheels for the Sharknose were modelled based on the bigger set of tires, used at fast circuits like Monza or Spa-Francorchamps.

Front Wheels: Ø11 x 3,5mm

Rear Wheels: Ø12 x 3,8mm

Steering Wheel: Ø6 x 1,2mm

All wheels are modelled with a Ø0,82mm hole suited for Hot Wheels and many other brand's axles.

IMPORTANT: Files updated with an alternative "B version" with separate rim and tire

3D printing settings

Tested in SLA Print. Layer Thickness of at least 0,05mm is recommended.

Central part of the wheel should have at least three supports in order to keep it centered to the outer rim and tire.

No hollow tires were tested.

Black resin will make the job easier, having therefore to only paint the rims.

Sanding the tires while turning the wheels will give a smooth and realistic finish.
