3D model description

These models were made using MATLAB R2016a to make different projections of an Earth's topographical maps, in order to illustrate how the flatearthers think the Earth is.
The file's names explained: name_1_x_10_y.stl is 1 : x * 10y. So _1_6_10_7 is 1:600000000 or one in 60 million.

Different projections
Flatearthers, people that assure Earth is flat, do not often care about the size of the Earth, but they still believe global maps have the actual shape of the continents. In their Earth, the north pole is in the center, the continents are around it, and the south pole doesn't exist, the Antarctica is a "wall" around the world. Assuming that the continents have the same size, the distance in the surface between the north and south pole is pi x actual Earth's radius, is equal to the flat Earth disc radius. This left a 40000 km diameter. The "thickness" of this disc is unknown for them, and the topography would be so thin that it wouldn't be noticeable. I've choose a height enough for making its topography visible in the model printed. Here I present three different versions that are different projections of a topographic Earth map:
Azimutal
This is the most common representation of the flat Earth. The latitude is the radius in cylindrical coordinates, with the north pole as 0 radius and the south pole is the max radius (20000 km). In this projection the southern the latitude, the more spaced are the longitudes, so continents in the south are wider and more deformed than the north ones. This is the projection of the UN logo and flag.

Azimutal projection

Stereographic
This is not an usual representation. It is not even an stereographic projection, that projection has infinite radius. In this version the difference in latitude is equal to the difference of longitude. By this way the southern latitudes are wider and higher than norther ones, so continents may not keep the exact shape, but every pixel has proportional wide and height locally.

Bipolar
This model is an azimutal projection of the original one tilted 90° so the poles now are in the previous equator, at the previous north pole it is Africa, and the south pole is in the center of the Pacific Ocean. In this version, Antarctica is a continent and not a wall around the world, Africa and Europe are accurate to the real shape, the rest of the continent are equally deformed. However this view does not share with the others the mechanism of how the Sun and the Moon supposedly moves.
