3D model description

Intended for 3d print.

This model pack contains 8 different longship hulls, as well as masts, rudders and other vital parts to assemble full miniature ships. See detailed list below. The ship types range from simple barge-type hulls to the mythological vessel Naglfar, its prow festooned with the toenails of dead giants.

The ships are intended for use in 28mm scale tabletop games, either as playable units or as scenery. They can also be used for purely decorative purposes outside of gaming, or even as floatable children's toys. The ships can be resized to suit both larger and smaller scales.

All model parts are prescaled to (roughly) 28mm scale. Some assembly is required. Which model part goes where should be fairly self-explanatory, and you can use the images provided on this page for guidance. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding assembly.

Please note that the hull parts are large, and, depending on your printer size, may require cutting into two pieces before printing. I was able to fit the largest hull (The Naglfar) within a 14cm x 14cm x 14cm print area by placing it diagonally from top left to bottom right corner, but you will probably have difficulties fitting the hulls within areas smaller than that without resizing the hull. Cutting a hull across the middle -using any slicer software- and printing in two parts should be no trouble, but you can contact me if you need help cutting the model.

  • 1 Dragon Ship at sea (bottom of hull flattened, see images for reference)

3D printing settings

Intended for print in 28mm scale.
Models are all prescaled to 28mm scale.
Relatively high printer settings are recommended (0,08 mm layer height, 20 percent infill).
Printing time depends entirely on hardware, selected size, selected model(s) selected settings et cetera. A rough estimate is 25 hours for one full ship including mast, sail, rows of oars and shields et cetera.
