3D model description

Originally published here on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3548609).

This coins are designed for printing using different colour by layer. The right way to print them is explained below.

In order to make the coins multicolored you must use a layer height of 0.3 or 0.15. The model 3 mm so it will have 10 or 20 layers (for 0.3 or 0.15). For the two first and the last you must use one colour and other for the rest. To change the colour you must be able to add a pause. Some Slicers allow you to directly add a pause. You can write manually on the gcode as a text file. Just before the changing colour layer you must put this:

G91; relative positioning
G1 Z5; move 5mm up from its current position
G28 X0 Y0; home of x and y
M84; steppers off, now you could move the header and the feeder freelywithout loosing steps
G90; absolute positioning
M226; this is the gcode for the pause, may not work in all printers
@pause; works in Repetier, idk if works in other slicers
; you must change the filament now
G91; relative positioning
G28 X0 Y0; home again after changing
G1 X130 Y130 F{TRAVEL_SPEED}; you must change the travel speed to yours, this travel to the middle of the bed
G1 Z-5 F{Z_TRAVEL_SPEED}; this return the header to the original z value
G90; absolute positioning
