3D model description

There is a new version available: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3428561

Leaving this one here since I know people have used it and I want them to be able to re-download if needed. If you are starting fresh, the new one is better to use.

This is a Boba Fett backpack rocket. It was designed for DVH Props to fit their rocket pack. Future DVH kits will include a resin casting of this piece. If you have a current generation DVH pack these should be a drop in replacement for the existing parts.

The DVH master parts were printed in resin on a Formlabs Form2 printer, 0.025mm layer height. I've also printed them in filament and they work out fine. The top part of the rocket can be tricky since it doesn't have a very large surface contact area with the bet. I ended up splitting mine into 2 pieces and printing it that way, so that there was better adhesion.

The rocket varies quite a bit depending on the pack you are replicating. The hope is that this will work out pretty well for everyone. Depending on how you assemble it you can make it more like the Prepro, ESB or ROTJ pack.

The part labeled bolt mount is designed to make the rocket easily removable from the pack. You'll need a bolt that fits into the mount (5/16 head should work).

  • Put the bolt in to that part first.
  • Epoxy it into place
  • Epoxy a big fender washer on top to help keep it in place

Once your bolt is in, glue that piece to the inside of the lower rocket, so that it is nice and flush with the top of the pack. Use a wing nut on the inside for easy removal.

I'll add pictures under makes once I build one up for myself!

Big thanks to DVH props for being willing to release these files!!!
