3D model description

Finished and Working! This has been printed and tested and refined 10 times, is good to go!

This is a control box cover for Ender 2 which gets the display up at a comfortable angle and adds a mirco SD to Full sized SD reader and a light switch.

There are two versions:

End2Contr8.stl has 52mms clearance between X gantry and rear of raised control box.

End2Contr10.stl is a new version with 65+mms between X gantry and rear of raised control box for passage of larger blower fans and EZABL.

Added an optional face plate for version 10, incase you are printing with the LCD face down this can cover the different print finish from the bed, and also cover the screws, glue with temporary glue so you can remove if needed, I used spray mount, but can use glue stick or other.

Version 8 is very comfortable for the screen angle but you cannot mount fans or instruments which stick out much further than original print head assembly.

If you print the version 10 on the face of the display screen it practically needs no supports!

mounting steps
1. mount display inside of the housing with its cable harness in place (important that you do this first)

  1. add light and on off switches

  2. add SD card reader

    • 5. glue SD card reader in place with a small bit of hot glue from inside (it fits very snuggly) and use a bit of hot glue to hold ribbon flat to top of housing and position correctly to enter into lower right micro SD slot.
  3. attach all connectors, longer ones first then the short ones, make sure your wires are all going out back between both raised brass stand offs, and screw cover in place.

good to go!

SD converter:

I added a light switch which powers my LED bar https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2700450.

You attach the power for the LEDs to the Main PSU Red wire to V+ black wire to COM, split one of the wires and put the switch in the middle of it.

I added a red and black wire to the k-fan outlet once inside the unit so I can easily add a bed fan later.
