3D model description

We added a Wyze Video Doorbell recently to our front door and love it.

We also have a side entrance door (home office) that did not have a doorbell that we wanted to add another Wyze Video Doorbell to, but our house is only wired for the one doorbell.

Rather than buying another whole doorbell/chime/transformer system, all that the Wyze Video Doorbell needs is the transformer. So I found this build for a box that holds the 120V power socket and switch (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1590987) and decided to remix it for our needs.

The Wyze Video Doorbell requires 16V with 10VA. The one I link to below is over-rated for its needs at 30VA but is compatible. This higher rated 30VA will support other video doorbells like those from Ring.

The box has plenty of ventilation for the transformer which should only get warm, not hot. I have printed ours in black PETG. The power switch and socket has a built-in 5AMP fuse.

Orient the side cover so that the vent holes are aligned with the bottom of the transformer.

M3 hex head 10mm bolts (6)
M3 hex nut (6)
M3 washers (6)
M3 pan head 6mm screws (4) for side cover

Once assembled orient the box so the side with 66 holes is on top for easy heat dissipation. Mounting the box once assembled can be done in a number of ways, there are 4 screw holes in the back of the box to mount it to the wall. You could use velcro strips, or simply set the box on a shelf or in the corner on the floor of a closet or wherever you can place it out of sight and wire it up to the Wyze video doorbell.
M3 20mm (4)
M3 Drywall screw inserts (4) (or velcro, or sit on the floor)

This doorbell transformer should also work with most other brands of video doorbells (as well as plain doorbell chimes).
