3D model description

Track compatible with Carrera Exclusive (1/24) rails, but in non-existent R0 configuration.

the R0 fits inside an R1, the most common radius in Carrera sets, and which allows to have tracks that completely cover a support or tracks on shallower supports. It's the lack of space, but the wish to use very comfortable carrera that pushed me to make these missing rails to the range.

The two straight rails are then side by side, to have an equivalent radius between the two tracks, and not too constraining for the inner track, the rails are planned to cross and therefore with a completely equivalent distance. Well adjust the positioning of the rails so that the guides pass without any resistance in the crossing, and immobilize the circuit (for example with the clamps for circuit, available free in my creations).

The rails are hollowed out for the electrical contacts, the electrical contacts are in different STLs. Electrification can be done in different ways:

  • printing the contacts and gluing copper tape (version used on the pictures)

  • printing the contacts in a conductive material (not tested, material not known)

  • contact printing and conductive paint (not tested).

Manholes are regularly arranged to allow electrical bridges to pass through.

A breakable part is provided at the end of the electrical contacts to fit the lugs of the rails they connect to.

Warning: the present files allow to make a 90° turn to make a 180° turn (mandatory), you have to use the parameters of your slicer to print a symmetry.

Rail successfully tested with many brands of slot cars such as scalextric, ninco, carrera: only difficulty: very long guides including 1/24 nevertheless some at 1/24 pass very well.

3D printing settings

print the top side on the tray. A magnetic tray will give some roughness compared to a glass tray which adds realism.

0,2, and no support

Printed on a stock ender 3 pro.
