3D model description

This saw uses SCS8UU bearings and 8mm steel rods and a 25mm 12v 100rpm geared motor which i already had that's why i made this version. The base is 295x200x10mm (MDF) and am in the process of printing the other parts. This will take at least 50mm square items, the item shown in the vice is 4545 x 250mm.

Other parts needed are 2 x 8mm (340mm) Steel Rods, 2 x 6mm (200mm) threaded rod), 3 x SCS8UU bearings, 1 rocker switch (19.5 x 13mm Hole), 1 Roller switch (KW11 3Z), 1 Hex motor coupler (4mm shaft), 2 x 100mm x 72 mm hinges, 1 DC 2.1mm panel mount socket. 2 x 6mm couplers or wingnuts, 1 x 4mm x 20mm threaded spacer or wingnut.

2 x 3mm Bolts (8mm Button Flanged) [Motor]

8 x 4mm Nuts and 20mm long bolts to mount the motor and base.

16 x 4mm Nuts and 16mm long Countersunk bolts for the hinges.

2x 4mm Nyloc Nuts with 25mm long bolts to fix the steel rods + 2 washers.

For the Hacksaw blade, 1 x 4mm x 20mm bolt, 1 x 4mm x 12mm bolt, 1 x 4 x 50mm bolt,2 x nyloc nuts and 1 x 4mm washer.

To connect the motor to the blade assembly.

1x 4mm x 20mm bolt, 1 x 4mm nyloc nut, 2 x 4mm x 25mm penny washer.

10 x 4mm washers used as a bearing (see last picture)

1 x 6mm x 50mm bolt, 1 x 6mm washer and 1 nyloc flange nut.

To connect the three SCS bearings and the green board.

12 x 4mm x 16mm bolts

3 x 4mm x 25mm bolts

2 x 4mm x 35mm bolts

5 x 4mm half nuts

3 x 4mm washers.

The Vice mounted on the board takes 3 x 4mm x 35mm bolts, 3 x 4mm washers and 3 x 4mm nyloc nuts. 4 x 6mm half nuts to fix the stud.

If the other vice is used. 3 x 4mm x 35mm bolts, 3 x 4mm washers and 3 x 4mm nyloc nuts. 6 x 6mm half nuts for the stud.

(Changes)

Enlarged hole on "motor mount". The threads of the DC connector would not fit (see picture)

The 3mm x 6mm bolts for the motor interfered with the shaft coupler. These need to be changed to 3mm x 8mm (Max) Button Flange bolts. (See picture)

(Changes 2)

Added packing pieces so that the blade is pushing level or down on the cutting stroke. Saw base V2 has new holes for this. Made a motor mount and clamp for a 37mm geared motor. Changed the drive piece to one with multiple holes, more power and a slower cut or a faster cut with less power.

(Changes 3)

Remade "37mm motor mount" and "37mm motor clamp" (V2) and removed packing pieces.

This was to reduce some of the movement within the assembly. Use original saw base template.

Made a motor base and switch mount for a 555 geared motor. Use original saw base template.

Made a printable hinge for the saw. This requires a 4mm steel rod 210mm long.

The saw looks like some weight is needed to assist the cut. This can be bolted on the "bearing mount" using longer bolts.
