3D printer file info

3D model description

These files would let you print your own spare part of the U3 and U4 pulleys guard. This is part A3A 000 100, according to manufacturer parts catalog.

(08.30.2022) IMPORTANT NOTE: Although EMCO indentifies this part with the referred number, there are noticeable differences between the U3 and U4 Pulleys Cover and thus the Motor Mounting Plate (or Carrier Plate A3A 010 000). The U4 was provided with a larger body size motor than the original Gefeg Ug-7750, that came with the U3.
This may lead to a confusion easily. According to these findings, the files have been corrected and updated.

This designs haven´t been printed yet, due to lack of time. However, great care has been taken to achieve a very precise reverse-engineering of the part, so I assume that it would fit just perfect.

ADVICE: It is possible that some minor adjustment in size of the STL design files would be necessary with the use of some plastics, due to the tendency to shrink upon cooling. In that case, you might try to enlarge the piece by 1-1,5%.

I have provided two versions of the pulleys guard design. One that replicates the original design, with the EMCO logo and perimeter trim embossed on relief, on the outer surface and one with the outer surface totally flat, with a low relief logo, for easier printing. Besides, the inner brackets have been modified to avoid the use of printing supports, with side angles of 45°, that eliminates the straights overhangs.

I assume that the original design could be replicated very well with an SLA printer, however the modified version would come out just fine with a FDM printer, using PLA, PETG, or ASA filament, among others. I´m quite sure that ABS would not be suitable, due to the shape and size of the part and the strong tendency of this type of plastic to shrink while cooling.

Please support my job!. Just by doing a small contribution with your purchase, you would let me invest more time designing, in order to bring to the community more and better designs, each time.

Suggested printer: Any SLA or FDM with at least a usable print area of 200 x 150mm
Recommended filament: Any PLA, ASA or PETG
Layer height: for FDM printers 0,15mm-0,2mm
Infill: 100%
Supports: Not necessary with the “supportless” file version.
