3D model description

Me being lazy to go to the store to get my own Santorini desktop game I gave myself the challenge to make a slight knock-off copy of the game with a sliding box, where the lid acts as a game board. This version is the basic version of the game without the Gods and the other expansions/addons.

It has not a latch or locking mechanism, but with the given tolerances, I made it so it keeps shut most of the time. You can also use the box as a game board holder, so the whole thing is a little bit higher on the table, so it gives it an "island" look.

You will need (as a number at the and of each file name says):
22 pcs 1st_lvl_x22
18 pcs 2nd_lvl_x18
14 pcs 3rd_lvl_x14
18 pcs dome_x18
6 pcs hammer_x6
3x2 pcs hammer_color_stand_3x2
1 pc box
1 pc SBG_board
(1 pc SBG_board_text - optional model to make the lid text two color)

The SBG_board:
This model has two options to consider before printing:
1) The first one is the "engraved" color SANTORINI text on the top of the lid, which needs to be printed first then the board is printed over it, so it gets two colors in one layer.

The text may need some little position adjustments if you have the "center the objects automatically" setting on in your slicer, so check the position first by loading both models in, slice, then just delete the box and print the text first. Move the text position, not the box, otherwise, you can miss the right position later. Donยดt forget to remove any extra printed features as brims etc., so they won't stay on the board later because they can cause trouble during printing the lid.

2) The second option is the layer color change, so you would achieve the grass, mud, sand, and wall colors texture on the board.

The hammers:
As well as the board got the layer color change option, hammers can also be printed with layer change, so you can get the "wood" into the models. This step is also optional. For the 3 colors, you can choose any colors to differ the game figures.

All the models are supportless, brimless, and hopefully "spaghetti-monster-less" to print.

Rules to the game can be found on https://roxley.com/products/santorini

Possible future updates: latch or locking mechanism for the box, The God powers (simple 3D printed cards), The Golden Fleece Variant (3D printed shield, workers, coins, tokens, game pieces,...)

So feel free to print this awesome game out and don't hesitate to brag about the results later on! :) Enjoy! :)

3D printing settings

Feel free to choose any color you want, I chose marble and pearl blue for the buildings and some basic colors for the box and game board. The builders are two-part, so you can print all the hammers together and then with just a drop of superglue glue the colors onto them (the tolerances make them fit snugly together, but glue is glue).

My settings:
Layer height - 0.25
Infill - Gyroid 15%
Perimeter speed - 35mm/s (so the little columns and small areas are nicely printed)
No brims needed
No supports needed
