beefed up the BLTouch cable tidy prongs, should not break as easily (hopefully)

Jan 8, 2022: I was pointed out that the rigid mount for the dragonfly BMO could only take M2.5x6, So I added a version of the mount for M2.5x8, and maximum M3x8 to bind the two printed part (M2.5x6 version will remain)
Rapido M2.5x8, would take exactly 8mm screws, so added 0.6mm of tolerance to give little room

For ender3/pro/v2 CR10 added a no direct drive version with swappable probe and one with no probe

Dec 29: Phaetus Rapido HF (ender3/pro/v2 cr10 and hermitcrab mount) updated, installed and working. (Not compatible with UHF version as it's too tall).

Dec29: updated BMG orbiter 1.5 mount, larger platform, and heat inserts version for the 2 pieces.
"unlocked" version that can rotate 360 like before, locked version with motor facing the front, and locked version with motor facing the left side. Based on a clone BMG so not sure if the locked version will work on all.

Dec28: Reorganized files in zips and folders, should be more intuitive now

Dec 28: Updated dragon rigid mount with M6 pneumatic fitting thread, for bowden setup.

Dec22: Redesigned BMG groove mount added with orbiter1.5 mounting holes. Single print version with print support needed. And a second in two pieces, no print support, held together with two M3x8.
Use m3x8 to mount it on the orbiter 1.5 mounting holes.

Dec20: Added prototype of new BMG mount using the groove mount. you will need print support for that one.
Use M3x8 to attache it to orbiter1.5 mounting points. (not compatible with orbiter v2.0)

Dec19: u/roofuskit pointed out that BMG mount I made was unusable and recreated a working concept, that I will base a new design on. Removed the old one, new one coming shortly.

Dec 16: Orbiter Extruder v2.0 supported, only ender3/v2/pro cr10 for now (bltouch version and swappable probe version).

Dec 11: small fix on printermod shroud (prototype stage)

Dec 7: Prototype for BIQU HERMIT CRAB (files with hermitcrab on the filename), orbiter, sherpa, and orbiter with 90deg rotated fan, all swappable probe. And only Rapido hotend end for now, if you are interested in another hotend mount, let me know. This being a retrofit, it's not perfect, but should still work quite well. I only did assumption about threaded holes and non threaded wholes, seems like only the hotend mount is threaded and mounted from the front, everything else is mounted from the back.

Nov29: Phaetus Rapido HF rigid mount, untested (UHF would put the nozzle probably too low, but could make a mount of it if interested)

Nov27: removed "Mars Orbiter v102 - no bltouch - Probe 12-18" (nothing wrong with it), updating it to make one that can be used with probes AND bltouch/crtouch.

Nov27: small tolerance adjustment on AIO filament sensor (rev5)

Nov26: microswiss Direct drive linear rail mount confirmed working

Nov26: tweaked filament sensor AIO (All in one, no mount needed, screws directly into your extruder), and added "AIO large" to use the larger pneumatic fitting. Measure two flat edge of the nut on the pneumatic fitting: 8mm use the AIO, 10mm use the "AIO large" version (the top threads remains 6mm). There are other pneumatic fitting that may not work with it.

Nov22: finally designed a Dragonfly BMO rigid mount, 2 printed parts (not actually tested in practice, but I printed it and the parts fit together nicely, don't see why it won't work )

Nov17: mircoswiss V-roller version mount thickness fix (v62)

Nov16: received more precise measurement of the depth of the microswiss linear rail version by a fellow redditor, so I removed the old files and added new ones (MOUNT v62 - MiscroswissDD_LinerarRail, comes in 3 different tolerances, you want it as tight as possible)

Nov16: CRtouch compatibility confirmed (removed the printable test)

- Moved hight of Bltouch mount (for dragonfly BMS), and printable spacer to lower it again for other hotend or CRtouch

If some of your values are wrong get ready to kill printer power before a nozzle crash

BLTOUCH - LEFT SIDE - settings (X is exact, Y are approximations)

  • stock hotend: offset X is -52.7mm , Y is -15.5mm
  • Dragon Fly BMS: offset X is -52.7mm , Y aprox -14
  • dragon: offset X is -52.7mm, Y is -7.5 mm

Those are my values with a stock hotend (until I get my dragon back), will be slightly different with different hotend, start with smaller values.

In klipper those are the actually bltouch head coordinates.

  • stock hotend: offset X is +52.7mm , Y is -8mm

#PROBE 12 & 18mm

(Y offset are approximate, X is exact)

18mm:
Offset X= -55.40mm
Offset Y= -15.5 mm for stock (-23.5 for dragon/dragonflyBMO/v6)

12mm:
Offset X= -52.40mm
Offset Y= -12 mm for stock (-20 for dragon/dragonflyBMO/v6)


weight breakdown:

totally setup weight: 360g ( includes duct, dragon hotend, orbiter extruder, fans, bltouch, adxl435, hotend, screws & bolts
(same weight as the official Creality direct drive, which has a single 4010 blower fan)

Duct: 87g
back mount: 4g
5015 Fan: 25g (X2)
Noctua 4020: 20g
bltouch:7g
Adxl: 2g
Dragon hotend: aprox 30g (the heat block is attached to my stock hotend while i wait fro the rplacement heatbreak and don't want to mess with it now)
Orbiter extruder: 145g
screws and bolts (include bltouch and adxl hardware): 13g

3D printing settings

No support needed, minimal cleanup if any at all

test printed at 0.20mm layer height with 0.4mm nozzle, the smaller layer height you get the better overhangs will be.

Duct can be printed in PLA

Mount part should preferably be printed in PETG since it's close to the heat sink. If you print it in PLA, print yourself a backup mount in case you experience heat creep in which case the mount can soften.

Make sure you have decent bridging before printing, as I rely on it a lot here (you can use super slicer to calibrate the bridging flow)

makes sure you have good bed adhesion (clean your glass bed before this print ) (I added a small thin printed part to help with one of the thin pieces, check pictures to see which part to clip out)

takes about 6 to 12hours to print the duct depending on your setup, layer height and print speed/acceleration.
