3D model description

There are plenty of toilet paper holders on thingiverse but I still designed a new one since I wanted to attach it to the side of a heating radiator which is conveniently near to the seat in my bathroom.

I tried ways to attach things to the radiator and found that this particular radiator allowed to stick things to the edges at it's side nicely.

For the actual holder I wanted something light and simple. I let me inspire by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2824749 (which for some reason would not allow to be added as a source of remix, ahh, thingiverse!) but I drew everything new as it was too narrow and arms looked sort of boring and the baseplate is completly different to allow sticking it to the radiator.

This thing tests how your printer handles stinging so you may want to check retraction settings and print temp. I needed to smoothen edges after the print, too.

The printer's calibration is on the test, too, when jamming something in between metal parts to make it stay fixed a millimeter makes a kot of differrence. You may even find that the construction holds better or less so depending on which height of the side of the radiator you attach it.

Update:

I made a new version of this (tagged v3) which has slightly longer arms (for thicker rolls), slots in the rings so you can insert the axis from the top which is easier and it has support for a small device to screw the holder and give a stronger connection. You'll need an m4 or m3 screw with min 30mm length for it. And it needs printing with support for the slots.

Besides there are 2 discs, 12mm or 16mm radius which fit tightly around the axis so you have variety or can make it more colorful.

This was designed in FreeCAD and the source file is included so you can adapt it to your needs.
